It feels really good to get the house in order! Our repair guy is here replacing 4 panels of rotten wood, a rotten side garage door, reinforcing the flooring in the crawl space under the master shower, adding flashing around the bottom of the deck which meets up with the deck and replacing the rotten stuff underneath, and fixing 2 ceiling cracks. Seems almost everything in the whole house has been fixed or replaced in the past 4 years.
I am still working on staining/sealing the deck. I have worked on it a week and need one more week to finish it but it keeps raining on and off.
I am also making a huge list of things that need to be finished/organized before the summer is over. Looks like Bill and I have agreed that I will go back to work at this point. My health is back and we still haven't decided on having a baby. Depending on how things go I may leave after this year again especially if I get as sick as I was before. The teachers piddly salary is not worth it. I may try to do something else but for now I will go back to my old job. The teacher who took my place moved to NY and the principal, assis. principal, and my friends have asked me to come back. I am not going to take any extra duties so I can be more available for Helen and Hunter. Helen will not be driving on her own until November and Hunter is taking driver's ed in July. We do not allow them to drive with their teenager friends since every one of them have been in some sort of accident.
I am just waiting for the approval since the district put a freeze on hiring vocational teachers at the moment and may drop 22 teaching positions because of budget cuts. I don't think the area I teach will be affected, but we'll see. I will know this week or next week. I told my teacher girlfriends at Bunko last night and they were very excited about me coming back!
