Marching Band

Finally got a few pictures of Helen in her marching band uniform...you can see Helen's death glare (dad! go away! stop taking my picture! akk!) hehheheeeeee....she laughed about them later....the band was performing at a competition. They are heading to Michigan this Friday for a competition and will return late Sunday.
Mr. "Joe cool" Hunter enjoyed it too. I need to get some more photos of Hunter- he has been wearing his dress clothes quite often and is still playing his guitar at school everyday during lunch!  The dude has style!

Art & Soul

Laura and I headed up to Hampton, VA for a 4 day art retreat 2 at the end of Sept. We had THE MOST FUN!!!! Laura is such a blast to hang out with and we hardly slept a wink because we were having such a good time. We both took a class on using a torch to melt glass rods and made lampwork glass beads w/ Kirsten. Our other classes were different. I also took a soldered shrine class w/ Sally Jean, business class w/ Claudine, retro rags art book and a child's play class w/ Traci, and a very cool purse making class w/ DJ.

2, 3, 4- Laura- wearing her soldered Tiara!!!! She spent 11 hours on it!!! Woah!!  The  squares spell out queen and have pics of her kids in them
Pis 5+6- some of DJ's artwork- beautiful!!! I loved her class...she is on the cover of Somerset Studio mag right now and also has an article in the current Cloth, Paper, + Scissors mag
Pic 7- after making about 45+ dyed and painted papers, this was my waste paper that I worked on! Looks like something great I can chop up to add into altered arts + journals!
Pic 8- ART & SOUL sent everyone a tambourine to alter for a contest..I made a chair!! The legs are wooden letters that spell out "ART" twice. It matches my art area at home. Thought I could sit something on the seat part as a display piece.
Pic 9- Laura made a cool purse out of her tamb.!!
Pic 10- Allison Strine is such a hoot! She made a lamp out of hers! The lighted lady even has a skirt made of altered charms! Allison won the $100!!! Congrats!! :-)
